He was - no, he is a good person. Genuine and selfless. He is a good person. That’s why he should be recognized as such. He should be labeled a hero, after all he slayed the monster. He is good.
Of course, he isn’t a stereotypical superhero with superpowers and a sad background story. Still, he doesn’t believe in such fantasies. He is a real hero who doesn’t believe in fairy tales, who does the right thing.
He is such a selfless person. That’s why he did this, he tells himself while wiping the blood off his face. It’s for the greater good, so all the sacrifices will be worth it. After all he’s a hero, he knows what’s best for everyone. That’s why he is doing this.
The body is heavy on his shoulder. It’s getting hard to breathe and the smell of blood blooms in his nostrils. He didn’t think monsters would bleed this much. The body is heavy but he is a hero, so he can’t fail. He won’t fail.
The blood washes easily off his hands because his hands aren’t meant to be stained. The monster deserved this. Everything is well. He is a good person because only good people can be heroes and only heroes can defeat monsters. So what if it bled and begged and cried. He killed it so it was a monster. Heroes don’t kill on accident.
So what if people don’t agree? Many great heroes have faced controversies. They will realize he was right all along. He is a good person. He would never harm a human. It was a monster, even if it bled and begged. It was the right thing to do so why do his hands shake ? Why does the colour red make him nauseous? He was right. He is right.
He smiles reassuringly at his mirror image. He is a hero. He did the right thing. His mirror image does not agree but what does it know? The world will realize that he killed a monster. He is selfless that’s why he did it. Because someone had to do it and he is a hero. So he did it. He knows what’s best for everyone and they will come to realize he was right. Because heroes don’t lie.
Nobody can stop him because heroes always win. So why is he the one dying on the floor ? Why are these people shouting at him? Why are they screaming? He did nothing wrong. After all, he is a good person isn’t he?
