False alarm

« Free will, nowadays, has a price »

« 20 bucks if you’re lucky »

« Freedom of choice is given to everyone »

« In the end we do what they want us to do, just like puppets.

«We have a choice between doing what they want or paying until we do what they want. »

« Here you can at least have freedom if you can afford it. Where I´m from, we had to do as told »

« One way or another, if you’re vaccinated, you got none of these problems, and your safe. »

« Well, that’s why we got vaccinated »

Drake was listening to the people talking on the train. He was vaccinated too. Still, one wouldn’t dare to clean his throat, neither to sneeze, even if someone thinks of you. Of course, the people were not afraid of someone having the disease. They were vaccinated after all. It was more, a symbolic gesture, to show one’s prestige over the cunning victory against it. One was immune. Untouchable by the bad spike. We were the best. The Virus was defeated; now no one has a reason anymore to cough. Danger was gone, may the weak unvaccinated, infect each other as much they may. The immunes were protected. The people were safe. The risk was gone. All was good.

Drake couldn’t wear his mask; he was eating paprika chips.

Anyways, he was safe.

After finishing the bag of chips, he opened another one.

He chewed them and swallowed them. One after another. At the same time, he listened to his music. There was a song playing called “Blue Angel”

Drake had blond hair, and blue eyes. He wore a white hoodie, a pair of jeans and black sneakers. He was about 27 years old. Suddenly, the bus stopped. There was a horse running across the street. Drake, was careless and shocked on the chips he was eating. He unleashed a barrage of coughs. Of terrible coughs. Gasping for air he went on and on. At the blink of an eye, all the passengers were looking at him. They silently observed him. Teardrops falling from their faces. Hand shaking. They were ready to start a witch hunt. Drake noticed their looks. They had eyes full with fear, askingly looking at him, as if they would be shouting: “ CoROnAA!??”

The face of Drake turns blue, as he tries to grasp for air. Someone would help him, but they can’t. They might be vaccinated, but still, you should avoid the people, who carry the disease. The passengers are ready to break out in panic. Some could be heard crying out of fear. Drake managed, with his last breath, to whisper,

« It’s not Corona. I’m chocking. »

« It’s not Corona” One of the passengers shouts. »

« What a relief », another one answers.

Everyone now got back to minding his business, ass Drake kept on choking and grasping for air.

How lucky, that it only was a false alarm.
