Prayer of a Teenage Runaway

Mother, Father
What have I become?
The disgust I bear for you
Now reflects in the mirror
I stepped into your shadow
But my silhouette cannot conform

Mother
Another girl nurtured me
Her name is nature, her name is love
Unsure of where to look but the ground
And she pointed at the night behind the stars

Father
I gazed at the abyss
And it stared right back at me
I had to gape at the eye of delirium
To see that I was rotting in hell

Mea culpa
No remorse!
Mea culpa
No apology for my sinful becoming!
Mea maxima culpa
I must leave

With the storm withdraws the mist
Crystal clear ocean
The bay is calm today...
